This year marked a special milestone for the museum: our 35th anniversary. It was a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come, to celebrate the people and stories that built this place, and to look forward to the next decades of sharing Yukon history with our community.
Throughout the season, our team worked with renewed energy to bring fresh ideas to the galleries. We introduced new exhibitions like ‘Clangor and Quiet’ and ‘Yukon Airline Hats: Collected’, reinvigorated old exhibits like our WP&YR model train, and started on new projects like a reimagined ‘Yukon Dogs’ exhibit.
Behind the scenes, we were also busy documenting the vibrant life of the museum. Our new promotional video, currently in the final stages of editing, captures the spirit of our staff, volunteers, and visitors in motion. It celebrates not only what we do, but why we do it: to make stories that travel from one end of the territory to the other, and connect people around the world to the Yukon.
The year also saw the arrival of new products in our gift shop, including artifact-inspired T-shirts, tank tops, and even a pair of socks! Trust us, we’ve got plenty more up our sleeves when it comes to YTM merch…
We were thrilled to host numerous events throughout the year—community gatherings, special programs, workshops, and collaborations that brought people together and filled the museum with conversation and discovery. We also continued our wonderful partnership with Big Cedar Music, an innovative company that delivers access to music education to Indigenous youth in Whitehorse.
As we share our 2024-2025 Annual Report and this year’s photo gallery, we want to thank everyone who visited, supported, volunteered, or contributed their voice.
