On March 26th, join us at the YTM for our unveiling of our Waco and our Windlass! Yukon Brewery has sponsored this event and there will be beer available by donation! There will also be light snacks and non-alcoholic refreshments available for all visitors.
First, from 4-6pm, one of our most dedicated volunteers, Bob Cameron, will be answering questions and sharing just how much work goes into restoring an airplane! The Waco Custom that he’s authentically restoring used to fly as a freighter in the Yukon, and Bob might just be the best person to ask about everything that goes into that intensive process.
Then, from 5-7pm, come visit the windlass that was created through the dedicated work of Yukonstruct employees and volunteers! Ours is very similar to the one used on The Burns Tramway on the Chilkoot Trail during the Klondike Gold Rush. You’ll get the chance to use it to move a sled across the museum, much like the miserable volunteers that did so during the Gold Rush!
Admission is by donation at this event, with charitable receipts offered for donations over 10$.
